In Chinese culture the dragon (long) is the supreme symbol of power, wisdom, and good fortune — a benevolent creature that brings rain, prosperity, and protection. The dragon dance dates back nearly two thousand years and is performed wherever a community wishes to summon luck and chase away misfortune: at the New Year, at temple fairs, and at the opening of businesses and festivals.
A team of performers brings the dragon to life, poles in hand, weaving the long body through sweeping coils, daring chases, and the famous sequence of the dragon chasing the flaming pearl of wisdom. The longer the dragon and the more perfectly synchronized the team, the greater the luck it bestows — which is why troupes compete to carry dragons dozens of meters long.
Our dragons are handcrafted with a lightweight bamboo-and-rattan frame, brilliant sequined scales, and flowing silk, balanced for the fluid sweeping motion that makes the creature look truly alive. Whether for a parade, a school, or a cultural celebration, a well-made dragon is the centerpiece that turns any event into a spectacle.
